Here is a screen recording of me playing the final version of the game. Please excuse the audio quality as the software used for the screen recording did not capture the audio in good quality so the sound is distorted quite a bit.
The version of the game as it currently stands is a working demo for a full game that I would propose to make in the future. The full game will be an expanded version of the demo with a lot more interactivity and gamified puzzles and challenges. In the full version, every tunnel would pose a challenge for the character, an obstacle for them to overcome. Such as the wheel that turns the steam off at the beginning or using the fire extinguisher to put out the fire. Each object will be a lot more hidden and difficult to find and every artifact will have a multi-purpose use to that it can be used later as either a weapon or a tool.
In the full game, there would be cut scenes to eliminate the need for long clips of dialog explaining what the player has to do. This would be especially useful right at the beginning. Each platform would be expanded to be a lot bigger and more complex showing a lot more of the London underground and displaying it as a sort of maze/labyrinth. The full version of the game could also have room for the addition of more characters. For example, the player could meet a character at each platform who tells of what it was like on the Underground at that time.
The full version would also be made up of multiple levels and the puzzles would get more difficult and complex as the game goes on to create tension and gamify the experience further. In the future, I would like to experiment with more features to see what works. For example the addition of a more complex inventory/map system that not only tracks where the player is but what items they have picked up in each location. I would also like to include a lot more ‘moving’ elements such as functioning escalator or lift that takes you to deeper platforms and tunnels.
