Development – Modelling in Blender

After exploring the possibilities of how to create the game I decided to have to make the background or at least the tunnel and stations in 3D. This will make the process slightly easier and more convincing. I have started the process of building these models/assets in blender, I have done the sections of the tunnel in separate chunks that should connect together to form the whole picture.

First is just the simple design within the tunnel system. These do not require a great deal of detail as it will be mostly dark in these sections with minimal visibility:

Next, we have the simple start of a platform model with the exit from the tunnel at the beginning:

Then there is a connecting platform section to make it longer:

The end of the platform section with the exit of the platform into another tunnel:

The character is going to be in 3D and will have some degree of movement along the Z axis (in and out of the screen). This will be constrained by the two ‘levels’ in the game being the tracks and the platform itself which the player will be able to jump onto to run along but will not be able to move freeform.
